| The Brugh's Inn of Salem was created from a home originally owned by the Spiggle family. Built in Circa 1907, the home was in the Spiggle family until approximately 1981 when it was purchased by Bob Brugh. The original renovation was done as a single family residence. The home became rental property for many years, and when the dream of the Brugh's Inn was born, the second, and much more extensive transformation of the home began. With a B&B in mind, the second renovation plans allowed for comforts not found in many B&B's. We opened up the lower level to create common areas that flow through large door openings, but we also recreated the original door trim to stay in character with the original construction. We added gas log fireplaces to every guest room. We replaced all the plumbing and used over-sized water pipes so low water pressure is never a problem. We installed separate hot water heaters for each room to insure plenty of hot water for each guest. We have installed Direct TV and placed flat screen TV's and DVD players in each room. We have wireless DSL service and free domestic long distance. Each room of the B&B has cotton bath robes, is supplied with bottled water, and all bed linens and towels are 100% cotton with high thread count. Each room has a Queen bed with both down and hypo-allergenic pillows. We are a non-smoking facility. We are an environmentally friendly bed and breakfast using only organic soaps, laundry, and household cleaners made by the Shaklee Corporation, which was the first company to achieve climate neutral status and had it's organic cleaner Basic H selected as the official household cleaner for the 25th celebration of Earth Day. Shaklee's products have been featured on Oprah's Favorite Things, and in Time Life's Luxury Products Edition We are an intimate bed and breakfast focused on customer service and "Southern Hospitality" We are a family run bed and breakfast, and as such are family friendly.
