What a wonderful, relaxing stay we had at this beautiful B&B! After a
restful sleep in our charming room (we stayed in Jessica's Room), we looked
forward each morning to another tasty breakfast. Our hostess, Phyllis, is a
wonderful cook and a great baker, as well. Each morning we had
freshly-baked muffins (my favorite was the chocolate chip muffins!) and lots
of fresh fruit, delicious coffee and juice -- and then the main course, which
was very different (and delicious!) each day.
Our room was just right, with an extremely comfortable bed, an inviting,
large 2-person chair, flat screen TV, gas fireplace, and large windows. The
bathroom was large and beautifully tiled. The colors everywhere are restful
and soothing.
A special treat our Innkeepers provided was the ice cream in the kitchen,
and we were invited to help ourselves . . . and we did! They also had other
snacks, bottled water, and a special treat in the afternoon if we were
around.
This B&B is SO conveniently located to the Civic Center, downtown Salem,
and just a short drive into downtown Roanoke. We explored downtown
Salem one day and another day we went into Roanoke. After a busy day, we
were happy to come home to our B&B! In the evenings, after dinner, we
enjoyed the spacious common rooms. It was wonderful having wireless
Internet service throughout all the rooms.
The B&B itself is beautifully decorated, the food is wonderful, the location
is ideal . . . but most of all the Innkeepers are warm and charming people
and you will feel cordially welcomed when you arrive and pampered during
your stay. This is truly a wonderful place to stay when you visit the
Salem/Roanoke area.

The Brugh Bed & Breakfast was a very
enjoyable experience, and being so close to the
Salem Civic Center was a added bonus for those
few breaks between events we had. The rooms
very pleasantly decorated and the gas logs made
it cozy. The bed slept wonderfully and the
bathrobes and fluffy towels made it even more
enjoyable. The breakfast served was delicious,
especially the homemade blueberry and
chocolate chip muffins. I have already
recommended it to several friends and hope I
will find myself traveling that way again soon.
